I started a new job on the 21st of September - I am now working for Northface University in Salt Lake City, UT. Although my official present title is "software developer," I will be doing many other things that are not intimated by that description. Currently, I am going through the same course work that the students will be going through in the first trimester in order to gauge how well the projects fulfill the educational goals established by those that do that sort of stuff. :P
In addition to this task, I will eventually assist in teaching the students. As far as I am aware, this will be more of an informal teaching job though, more like mentoring than teaching in the traditional sense. I will not have a regular teaching time, class, etc. but will work closely with the students to make sure that they are learning the things they need to, and providing instruction when necessary. As far as I know. ;)
One of the most important things the students will be learning will be ORM. What in the world is that, you ask? Object-Role Modeling. What in the world is that, you may ask? Well, not enough room to fully explain here, but you can find many resources at orm.net, and I am going to make an attempt to write more about it here, as I learn more about it.
