I was reading through this article on why we should dump (stop using) IE (Internet Explorer (aka Internet Exploder)). Many valid points are brought up. Eventually the article goes on to say we should start using Firefox. The last link takes you to this article, which is what really scared me.
This is an issue which has caused me deep thought many times, as I know how easy it is to click on a link and end up seeing things you didn't want to see. I have seen this happen to family members. It's not cool. Do these smut peddlers really think this is a way to get customers? I mean, everyone and their mom knows about porn, and it is not hard to find. Google "free porn" and you probably get all you need. It's not like they have some product that is unknown, which people have a hard time finding. I can't imagine a guy out there surfing the web thinking "Man, where can I find some free porn these days?!" and then become subjected to such a browser hijacker and praise and glorify it. "Oh, at last, I have found my heart's desire!!!"
No, I don't see that happening. Instead I see innocent people cluelessly wandering onto a site using IE and finding themselves subjected to disgusting, tasteless, and debasing images, and later having another family member (or worse, law enforcement official) discover the unsavory materials much to their chagrin (understatement!). Honestly, I can completely see this causing problems for people. Evil stuff . . .
